9-1-1 Emergency Service Limitations

IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING 9-1-1 EMERGENCY SERVICES

Réseaux Nexco Networks Inc. provides Voice over IP (VoIP) telephone services. Our VoIP 9-1-1 service has important differences from traditional landline 9-1-1. Please read this notice carefully.

HOW OUR 9-1-1 SERVICE WORKS

9-1-1 calls made through our VoIP service are routed through Northern 911, a registered emergency services provider. When you call 9-1-1, your registered address on file with us is transmitted to emergency dispatchers.

LIMITATIONS YOU MUST KNOW

  • Location Accuracy: Unlike traditional phone lines, our 9-1-1 service relies on the address you have registered with us. If you move your phone or equipment to another location and do not update your address, emergency services may be dispatched to the wrong location.
  • Power And Internet Outages: VoIP services require a working internet connection and power supply. In the event of a power outage or internet disruption, you may be unable to reach 9-1-1 through our service.
  • Service Interruptions: During any service outage or maintenance, 9-1-1 access through our VoIP service may be unavailable.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Keep your registered service address current at all times.
  • Notify all users of your VoIP system of these limitations.
  • Maintain an alternative means of contacting emergency services (e.g., a mobile phone).
